Jody's Diary
8 November 2007
Great news everybody I'm off to San Francisco on holiday soon so I'll be sending Charlotte some photos to put on the website together with some details about how I'm getting on. I've seen Arvid recently as well for the first time since the accident.
Probably the most exciting news is that I'll be coming to Antigua for the Antigua Classics Yacht Regatta in April 2008. I can't wait to get back 'to de islands' and see all my friends, they have really been a rock since the accident and I can't wait to be back chilling with them in the Harbour!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently - I've moved back in with my parents they have installed a lift so I have a nice studio sized room upstairs. For now I have been busy with my Dad building a rough version of a standing frame that I can stand in for an hour or so a day. This has many physical benefits and it has a desk on the front so I can do desk type stuff as well. Arvid and Bruce had some Jodypositive T shirts made up and were selling them in Cannes at the classic Regatta. I am still getting myself in dramatic situations, causing trouble and stepping in shit whenever possible.

It’s almost been a year since my accident. The great news is I am getting stronger every day. I am now transferring without a sliding board, even into my car. Soon I'll be sailing and I can’t wait. I am hoping to begin my consulting and charter management career within a few days.
I have been managing my pain better and my mood is improving. I get tired in the evenings but have been sleeping better and waking feeling rested. The small things that one takes for granted become huge in my situation.
I have been thinking about the Jubilee Sailing Trust www.jst.org.uk and the Yacht Tenacious, I would love to do a fund raiser specifically aimed at raising the money to get me on it sailing to Antigua in November 2007. It could be a cool project but it is only a thought at the moment. My mind is beginning to look to the future with promise of adventure. It feels good to dream again.
To mark the anniversary of my accident I’ll be doing a skydive – exciting hey! I’ll let you know how it goes and post some photos soon!
